“Summer Band Camp Schedule 2009”

WELCOME to all the returning upperclassmen and to all the new freshmen joining the ranks of the elite “McHI
BULLDOG MARCHING BAND”.

We hope you are having a great summer and are looking forward to a great year at McHi in 2009-2010.  We had a
fantastic year at McHi last year and are excited about a new year of greater achievements.

It is very important that ALL BAND STUDENTS ATTEND OUR SUMMER BAND CAMP.  If you are working
this summer, please arrange your schedule NOW so that you won’t miss these important rehearsals.

“Songs of Sailor and Sea”, which Robert W. Smith work that was written for the US Navy Band, is the theme for this
year's show.  It will be lots of fun and should be a great showcase of our great band program.   Everyone has been given
music to the first movement, which will be performed at our first football game, so make sure that you have practiced it.
Check our website (mchiband.com) for the other movements of our show.  Freshmen have been given a copy of the McHi
Alma Mater, Fight Song and National Emblem, which will have to be memorized for the football season.  We will start
with the Pigskin marching drill on August 6.

Our first football game is Aug. 28th against Harlingen High School in Harlingen.  PIGSKIN will be held Oct. 17 which is
during the second six weeks grading period again this year.  In order to participate at Pigskin and Area, you must pass all
of your classes the first six weeks.

SUMMER BAND IS A MUST.  Please remind your friends about our rehearsal schedule in case they did not receive a
letter.  We expect to have over 220 students in band next year.  If you have any questions, please call Mr. Egger at the
McHi Band Hall (632-3170).
